Tick-Tock Time Poem by Kelsey Gallant

Tick-Tock Time

Look at the clock.
Noon, eleven.
What does it mean?
What is time?
Why do we look
Look at the clock
Say, “Time to eat! ”
Or, “Time for bed! ”
A number’s a number.
Time is abstract.
Turn abstract real?
Turn real abstract?
So we use numbers
To understand time
Say, “Two twenty-seven”
And, “Nine thirty-five.”
