Till Death Do Us Part Poem by D.N. Rebb

Till Death Do Us Part

Rating: 5.0

Courtship does a curtsy
With fresh lips so thirsty
Espouse this unique perspective
Unconditional directive
A first dance, within dim lights
Relative comfort takes flight
The first chapter has been written
Time pens next compositions
Let down all the guards
Revel shooting stars
Work well alongside
Take life's pleasant ride

There will be dim rumblin' in the crevasse
Angels n' demons fiddle all forecasts
Schadenfreude, picked like apples from a tree
Whatever happened to that sure guarantee?
Alone, drinking in the dark
Sneering sarcastic remarks
Feelings all turning grey
As frantic hope just decays
And shameful, selfish egos
Release all their torpedoes
Intentional hostile idioms
Ultimate disappointment succumbs

The hour glass makes no sound
And the foiled dog licks its wound
Repercussions, so unfortunate
Apologies, new coordinates
A mourning peace-dove hovers dreamily
They reach for each other uneasily
A compromising harmony
As this quiet day's again sunny
Disoriented love is rescued
Slow tears solemnly create the mood
A song is heard from the other room
And their informal first dance resumes
