Time For Peace Poem by Phil Soar

Time For Peace

She sleeps and dreams of things gone by
The future has no meaning
Her thoughts are just and endless lie
Her memory has no feeling
The days pass by with selfishness
And hours hold nothing new
And when she loses consciousness
There's nothing she can do

There are no tears to dry away
No laughter any longer
There are no magic cards to play
That might make her mind stronger
And as the dreams begin to fade
Replacing all that went before
It leaves her memories in the shade
As nothing thrills her anymore

So sleep awhile, whilst fading light
Begins to ease your pain
And dream of all those times you might
Be happy once again
It matters not that you can't be
The girl you were before
But there's an angel deep inside
That waits at heavens door
