TIME…A PLAYER?

Time is a player
Always leading us in the race
Making us sprint to keep pace
At times leaving us behind
To catch up if we can
Ever challenging, often constricting, forever demanding

Always going ahead,
Determined, dead-bent, never-stopping
At times ruthless, hard and unbending
Beguiling us …treating with estrangement,
At times keeping itself masked, shrouded and unseen
Yet, taking effect slyly, secretly but surely

Nevertheless, it is always there
Holding out a surprise at every bend
