I didn’t get a chance
To say goodbye
I think
As the tears fill my eyes
I was too late
You were already gone
It feels like
There’s never going to be a dawn
I sat your toy
And the tears fell
Falling and falling
Like an overflowing well
I sit with Jen
As we try not to think of you
The fact that you’re not here
And how much we miss you too
You’ll never leave our hearts
And soon we’ll emerge from the dark
