To Be So Alone. Poem by John Richey

To Be So Alone.

Rating: 2.7

The rustle of leaves in the quiet breeze
The warm feeling of the bright sun on my back,
The cooling feeling of water around my feet…
But I’m all alone out here,
No one to share my thoughts with,

The feeling of utter abandonment…
Trying to find the source of my dismay,
Wanting to have it a different way.
How the feeling has no words,
To describe how it feels to be so alone...

I may not be alone in my plight,
There may be others just like me…
But I stand alone, with no support,
Reduced to self-preservation.
But I will fight this, even if every being is against me.

To listen to the quiet rustle of leaves,
Have the warm feeling of the sun on my back…
And having the cool feeling of water around my feet…
To share such a thing, would grant many a wish
