As our parents hearts are filled with mirth
As our eyes open when given birth
A crawl begins and then a walk
A gibberish sound before we begin to talk
As we discover a world through our parents eyes
And the older I got the more I began to scrutinize
And I began to discover in my youth
The ways of God and all its truth
To hold on to it and completely trust
To fulfill a call, before I return and turn back into dust
