My companion through thick and thin of life!
No balance measures, nor no love exceed
Who uncomplained on my fancy doth feed,
Who confronts the world to save me from strife;
Who, when stabbed, gladly accepted the knife
On my behalf, dear! I poverished lie;
I hardly can myself serve and my Muse,
But daily I ask her. She must infuse
An ounce of strength more in thy raging veins,
So thinking not of Earthly woes or gains
Thou to Humanity give! I proudly love
Thy care for animals- that cat, that dove
And myself too- I proclaim till I die.
