This girl had slogged for family;
She toiled so hard for others' sake;
She did not eat or keep her cake;
God, rain your blessings upon her!
Doesn't she deserve the Maker's grace?
We pray, O Lord, to make her well;
Restore her health and make her brisk,
And keep her cheerful in old age.
Christmas is coming fast this year;
Let her be happy for more time;
Let her feel loved and liked by all;
God, be with her until the end.
Old age has its own ‘ups and downs';
Old age is not a comfort zone;
Old age is best for rest, and pray
For oneself, and those living, gone!
The wise enjoy their senescence;
Their will-pow'r keeps them fighting fit;
And encouraged by suff'rings past,
Life's few last years are neatly passed.
Yet, one must do some exercise;
Brisk-walking gives much stamina;
And pensive moods upbeat mind, heart;
Good food keeps taste-buds pretty high!
Let elderly co-operate;
Let elderly recuperate;
Let elderly find peace and joy
And walk and talk with Christ, our Lord.
'Buck up, my dear sister! '
