To My Readers Poem by andrue finley

To My Readers

You read poems to seek the truth

To cleanse your problems, to find some truth.

To believe that the world isn't as cruel.

That some people have some faith or know what to do.

Or maybe you compare your work.

To see what you have to compete with.

What type of person you can relate with.

And pick up on some new words too.

But for someone who passes through and picks up on my words

Can see how my life isn't perfect and doesn't work.

How my anger can hurt more than I hoped.

Or how my heart is seen only as a joke.

My experience is your gain.

My mistake is a warning for you not to do the same.

To feel others, share there pain.

But most of all, to be who I have been.

To my readers.
