I may be an alien,
An illegal alien,
In an illegal world,
But I have to be MYSELF
No matter what they say.
In a world full of hypocrisy and neglecting dignity
I won’t submit easily.
Enough what’s happening next door
To the People of Palestine ‘Cause
Horror, crime and war
From Sunrise to Dawn.
Never on such occasion will I forget
The tongue in my mouth won’t wait for a let,
To remind everyone our duty to pray
For the sake of our brothers and sisters away
Telling them no matter what ‘they’ say
Our hearts with you will forever stay.
Deeply introspective and an excellent example of its genre!
What a wonderful way with words! Keep it up Besma! And looking forward to reading many more of your beautiful poems...
