To Ruth Poem by Shouvik Narayan Hore

To Ruth

Rub thy palms, sing fluent, declare thy love,
Hold stronger her hands, have stronger one mind
So when praying eternity above,
Watch her eyes close- one trance elevate
Up where thy commune no Earthly kind
Ever think, nor follow, nor dare, nor fate
Shall chance to catch, or touch so can sense
The celestial abode of stars immense,
When love that loud petty morals exceed
Of thy church, of household's dubious truth,
It silent from Ethereal hedge barns feed
And knew how genuine was pierced that Ruth,
Who suffered in love, more suffered in death
More loved, more endless breathed her breath.
