She looked at the floor,
then looked back up, a tear running down her cheek
She wanted to say something,
to say I Love You before it was too late
Her mother said quietly 'would you like to say something? '
She wanted to say yes, yet her head shook no,
as the two of them walked away.
She had to stay strong, she could not cry,
as she knew she would do if she said goodbye
So she walked away,
taking one more look at the woman lying in the hospital bed
Her grandmother, alive one minute,
the next, she was dead.
