to this kind,
our kind, and our
kindness,
we all become
drunkards, but
still all alone,
unlike you
my friend and your
friends,
you all become drunk
in hordes,
merrier in numbers,
and you tell your miseries
to each other,
but with us, how could we
tell you?
we are meant to be just
words,
silent words,
words with mouths shut,
for when we begin to
talk, you
decide to leave.

i am drunk,
like nazim, but in this
drunkenness,
i only have a poem
for it,
dedicated to someone
unknown,
to someone far away,
happy with
fate, happy with
a beloved,
who is never
myself.
