To The Unfaithful Poem by Kevin Patrick

To The Unfaithful

Rating: 5.0

To the unfaithful
and egocentric
Marriage
is like
jumping
out of an airplane
without a parachute
and expecting to land
in one piece
instead of
ending up in all pieces
with a shattered body
and broken heart

only to the faithful
and committed
can you survive
the turbulence
of egos
and the years
of friction
to land in peace

sadly the unfaithful
make a continent
and an island
make the faithful
as the earth
is made of broken hearts

To land in peace and in one piece. This is an absolutely magnificent verse, Kevin. It may be your very best, and your work is absolutely brilliant. This goes right to myfavourites.

Faithfulness is one of the very foundation of marriage and if one lacks this attribute, he/she would be better to remain single otherwise he/she pulling the other toward darkness. A well presented poem.

A very discerning write on marriage. In my honest opinion, if someone cannot be faithful enough to respect the sanctity of marriage, then there is no reason to plunge into it.
