To Those Whose Word Is Bond Poem by Francis Duggan

To those whose word is their bond great credit is due
Since to their higher selves such people are true
They do live by honour and others never deceive
As living honest and truthful in their dealings they believe
And though this is not saying anything that is new
Their sort of people are not of the few
Some people do make dishonesty pay
But if the law does not catch up with them karma will one day
What goes around comes around as some does say
We eventually reap what we sow life is this way
Those who are honest and deal in the truth
Are also generally people of compassion and ruth
Those whose word is their bond to their higher selves true
And they live as admirable people and to them credit is due.
