Too Soon Poem by Will Barber

Too Soon

Rating: 4.9

So soon, the green wing faltered so soon
As the shadows grew short on the lawn -
It was more than the phase of the Moon,
More than the flight of the dawn -
Time for the lovers to leave, so soon -
So sudden, the green wing has flown.

the heron summoned her too soon over the wooden bridge too soon past the stonehedge drive beneath an autumn moon and her shadow still waits.
