Tortoise Troubles Poem by Richard D Remler

Tortoise Troubles

~~~~~~~~
I feel a bit smidgy.
Sorta schniffy,
With blee.
I'm leaking a lot.
Not a good look
For me.
My feet feel all
Olgish,
And ickish
With ick,
And all that
My brain seems
To do now
Is tick.
And whenever
I wibble,
I wobble
And fall.
I tipple right over,
And sploof
Like a ball,
But I never bounce,
So it stickles
A lot,
And my nose
Gets all wiffish
And sniffish
With snot.
I don't have
A fever.
My toe doesn't
Hurt.
My knees are
Not covered
In gludmuddy
Dirt.
My tooth is
Not loose,
And my ears
Seem OK.
I just have no
Clue what's
Become of my day!
I used to be cheerful,
And certain,
And sure.
I used to be grand,
Debonair,
And demure.
But today's been a
Hodgepodge of
Knickles to knick,
And all of these
Knickles
Are making me
Sick!
Word is I ought
Just go rest
Up a
Spell.
So I think
I'll just crawl
Back inside
Of my shell.
A precocious child would go nuts over this And some childlike, innocent poets Would bless you with a kiss. Really enjoyed, smiled too So, than you!
My favourite sort of Remler creation! A hybrid of Lewis Carroll and Seuss! : -)
