Toys No- More

Man’s downfall is the devil’s game
Since Adam played the clown
Until the day Christ bore our shame
To take back keys and crown

We know the devil thinks us fools
This truth is nothing new
For in God’s house true wisdom rules
His gift of knowledge too

God’s Spirit comes to Jesus’ bride
As Councillor and friend
He’ll feed, Hell teach He’ll love and guide
Who’s humble knee will bend

The devil’s brood is clearly seen
Their evil deeds are plain
Quite opposite to Jesus’ queen
Refined when born again

A tare will act as golden wheat
Deceived and bound through lies
Serving the bride by gross deceit
Behind a cunning guise

Light thrives on what The Lord would give
Though some may think it dumb
Yet side-by-side we all may live
Until the reapers come

The bride’s now wise to Satan’s ploys
However chic or fine
No more are we his dancing toys
Made drunk on tampered wine

Through Christ God’s Lamb we’re sober now
We’re free of Satan’s charms
Our knee will but to Jesus bow
Within Salvation’s arms…
