Transience Poem by William B. Watterson

Transience

The sea is
Terrifyingly beautiful
During a storm.
Keeping cadence
With wind and thunder,
Mile-high waves
Come crashing in
Like cars
On a mad roller coaster
Gone berserk—
Rolling, rolling, rolling—
Finally to explode insanely
Against the dunes,
Effacing all the while
The footprints
We left
On the calm beach
Yesterday.

Beautiful, very descriptive with a touch of romance.
