Traveler Poem by Adelina Amare

Traveler

I am a traveler because I read.
I slip through time, and even worlds, for I own all the keys.
I see such incredible sights,
And fall in love with the bravest of knights.
I live through the roaring twenties then dive down into an aquatic world,
And marry kings and dukes and wear the shiniest of pearls.
I dance in ballrooms and I wield a flaming sword.
I take up arms in the most brutal wars.
Then I dance with monsters and jump from cloud to cloud,
And swim with mermaids and wear bejeweled gowns.
I play a magical game, and it is unclear what is pretend or real.
Then fall in love with artists and musicians and make ruinous deals.

Come travel with me, and see what wonders await.
I'll show you incredible realms and introduce you to villains you'll love to hate.
We can slip through space and time and forget reality.
Right now, an escape is what you need.
So take my hand; I promise this is something you will not regret.
I will take you on adventures you will never forget.
