En lieu de mai, de dorure, ou de chaîne
A ce matin premier jour de l'année
Je vous envoie un brin de gui de chêne;
N'êtes-vous pas richement étrennée?
Cette façon d'en donner n'est pas née
De moi premier : les vieux Druides sages
En présentaient ce jour pour bons présages.
Oh ! qu'en ce gui tel signe fût compris
(Puisque le glud se fait de ses feuillages)
Que votre coeur du mien dût être pris!
