Trickled Treason… - Poem by Frances Kay

Emotions crippled ~ junctions

Span … choices motioned

Contraband… Chosen streams concoction

Dam, where trickled treason ~ havoc

Ran ~ amok spawned interests flame

No fan ~ can, air supply … once war torn,

Viet-nam … whose waterbeds, embrace like

Clams ~ residual chemicals … that in-toxic-ate him,

Man … will find munitions buried, now have maimed his land

Poet's Notes about The Poem

The poem is both metaphorical and literal in that it takes the damage of crippled emotions in its entirety and applies the tenet of war to what effectively takes place within the body of man as well as without... It embodies physical, emotional, mental, spiritual understanding compounded in a relationship...
