True Lies Poem by I write because I have to

True Lies

Rating: 0.5

Shattered looks in your eyes,
I was surprised to find
a broken person crying inside.
Pieces of a life crushed,
blown away like dust in a gust
of wind,
disgusted that you'll never trust again.
You exposed your naked soul,
unclothed,
felt whole, complete
and were swallowed whole;
he let you go.
No silent moment was ever so honest
he stopped loving you...he's broken his promise.
I didn't know what to say
I just looked away when you looked my way.
You didn't cry for him
but for the broken heart that beat within.
Never knowing what love meant
wishing you could get change back from all the years spent.
As I hold you now crying,
drowning and dying,
I tell you ‘I love you'
but I don't...I'm lying.
One last kiss.
One last kiss to dismiss all this that we reminisced.
Then I get up and go
it's not healthy to stay
this is the end and I know
that it all ends today
and it hurts that I had to end it this way.
But when I told her I loved her, it wasn't a lie
the only lie was that I turned away and wiped my eye
so she couldn't see me crying too
because I'm the one I'm lying to.
