True Love Waits Poem by Tina Rizk

True Love Waits

My love,

A mother waits 9 months
To hold her child in her arms
A tree waits for a new spring
To see new green leaves growing

True love waits
Even if waiting is unbearable
Even if it means holding an ember in the hand
A soulful love remains loyal and faithful

Your love touches me deep
You built bridges out of thin air to come near
You patiently, devotedly stayed
And helped me grow in wisdom and maturity

Our souls waited eons to reunite
We found within each other's heart a tender home
True love honors the heart and the soul
As your great love, my soulmate, my endless love
