True Miracles Poem by Joan Marques

True Miracles

Although we have a tendency
To consider only the extraordinary
As miracles to be stored
We should all realize by now
What we can't possibly disavow
What just can't be ignored...

True miracles are all around
And can so easily be found
In the smallest things we share:
A smiling child, a helping hand
A mind that wants to understand
The gift of love and care

A true and honest miracle
Makes giver and grantee lyrical
And ignites a glow of grace
It may seem short-lived or fickle
But it will definitely tickle
A smile to every face

The greatest miracle of all
Is that, no matter how small,
We can all be miracle creators
By contributing good intentions
And adding positive dimensions
Through becoming love incubators
