Truth Of Words Poem by Alejandro Torres

Truth Of Words

My heartbeat in the mist
Have I loved you so
From the confines
Of too little words
I’ve neglected
To utter
Such a pleasing statement
For you
Surely you’ve figured it out
Please tell me in fact you do know
Dear love
A Muse in her walking alone
But I have the privilege
Of seeing so much more
Though your shine
Blinds the eyes to my heart
I have endured
Weathered through the storms
Lasting with these weary bones
For centuries it seems
But just your smile alone
Can crumble my foundation
Of a proud warrior born
To become the next generation fighter
But I fight for you
I fight in the shadows
And hide the wounds
Your devastating beauty creates
Oh Saint
Oh Savior
I spill forth words
Like a sand drowned man
Drinks from the oasis
I find in your being
You ask who
What
And I smile Darling
This weary Spartan smiles
In the texts of history
I am called poet
In texts of myth
You are simply titled
My Muse
