Turning 60 Poem by Antony Glaser

Turning 60

Im 60 now

and my sister says

I do the marsupial walk

a short stop in the middle of the path

I realise my energy levels are low

its like preparing for old age

The pitfalls of the cannot do 60

but it can be a delight

You know your own mind

and have a turn of phrase

and Ive got my poetry

2 clubs and Morley College

I weave my own truths

and create my own world

in quick pace I can stir a fire

in the gains of ones life

or adulate my half full glass of milk
