Uncovering Poem by Leonardo David Tay

Uncovering

Has it been long,
Since times I despaired?
Perhaps I'm wrong,
But fine I have faired.

Have I uncovered “her” face,
In a friend of old?
To be near, my heart starts to race,
Of what's to unfold

Oh friend of mine,
Tell me you are,
To finally align,
This heart afar

To begin anew,
Fear stalks instantly
With chances so few,
My mind acts carefully

Piece by piece,
I begin uncovering
I hope for peace,
For none to start hurting
