Unsettled Feeling Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Unsettled Feeling

My heart be laid in a field of prayers
Near an ocean of tears where nobody cares
Many suns have risen on cold, dark days
Still from the ground, I love; No sound is made

A walk I take along a path of stones
To knock on doors of empty homes
During my wait, I hear no words to share
As if the Earth were filled with no one there

Languishing in a perceived waste of time
A lashing of feeling empties from an unsettled mind
My face reflects the pain that I must bare
It breaks me more when no one cares

A breath I take before a prayer
To ask of God, why no one cares
The answer is known to the silent, at peace
All dreams, they end, when hearts must sleep
