Upside Down American Flag Poem by Linda Barnes

Upside Down American Flag

As Americans, we raise our heads high
At times we have fallen, but we always get up
With the blood of our heroes, who have sacrificed
Our American Flag will always be raised to fly high

We must never forget what we have lost
Its more than a symbol, its our way of life
Those who oppose us or infiltrate our land
Will learn the consequence of such a campaign

We have suffered, due to the ignorance of few
But we will not stand down and will honor this land
Brothers in arms, true soldiers of heart
Together and united, defending American soil

Even those who oppose the American way of life,
We will not dishonor this land and those who have fought
By not fighting all enemies, foreign or domestic,
We proudly salute and honor all our brave soldiers

We, the American people, are the caretakers of this land
We will continue to fight and protect this sacred ground,
Beware our enemies, who misjudge the American resolve
For we will never raise an upside down American Flag
