Uvalo Poem by Black Consciousness Poetry BCP

Can you really overcome your humanity
The profanity that we call life
The gift of breath that affords us to have ups and downs
Lows and highs
As I ride on thus bus
Looking left
Looking right
I don't know what to say
What words can I use to express this feeling
I wish I could give it to you
Maybe then words won't be necessary
They might not work here
My vocabulary might fall short of perfection
However something's can't be expressed through words
Maybe a sweet hum of a melody might suffice
Words constrict emotions and thoughts
And channel them in a language and idea's
Once the words are uttered to express the thought
The thought loses some of its innocence
Now it has to face the big bad world
Where failure is far more common then success

I wish I could give you this feeling
Convey words of healing

Really I'm doing it for me
I need healing too
But since it's you I thought I might share
Maybe the words will reach a heart with care
And you can give some back
We can exchange for whatever allotted time we may have

I never wanted half, I want the whole thing
I just might sing if the feelings there
I might just bling like a star when you look at me and stare
A trillion watt light bulb
But at one with the darkness inside me

It's inside you to
Until you know it
You don't know yourself
Until you know it you won't see the light

Young.
