Vacation Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Vacation

Rating: 5.0

We talked along the lines of verbal stimulation.
Sharing laughs and smiles.
Electronically induced phone lines now mobile.
We took each other everywhere.
Our heads nestled warm, soft. Against our pillow.
We've spoke of the places we've always dreamed of going.
Eyes closed as our feet felt the warmth of the beads of sand.
Resting by the shore,
By the ocean that splashed against the shade in our eyes.
Afraid to open them in fear of drowning.
A paradise that melted into the sunset above our umbrella,
Striped red and white.
Wood coated seats planted in the sand.
Lips that thirst to taste the salt splashed against our lips.
As the currents turned by the motion of our bodies.
Hands held tightly beneath the sun.
Sharing each moment as each breath drew us close.
Becoming fluid
Far off somewhere passed the Pacific.
You and I.
We laughed as moments matured into a place we'd
Soon visit again.
In the dream of you and I
