Valentine Poem by Sarah Whelan

Valentine

It was so calm as we lay intertwined
Yet your heart beat as fast as mine,
Seeming to whisper of things unsaid
Hinting that the same thoughts were in your head.

And so, nestled there I smiled in the dark
As I listened to the beating of your quickened heart.
Truthfully, I long for one more kiss
But I know that I was lucky to have just this.
