Van Wert’s Song Poem by Austin Heffner

Van Wert’s Song

Do you hear Van Wert singing songs of everyone working so hard?
I hear the judge keeping the beat, pounding his mallet at his desk.
I hear the singing of sirens of a local cop car.
I hear the singing of the unemployed, waving signs and chanting more.
I hear the song of farmers plowing dirt and dropping seed in the earth.
I hear the lyrics of the buses hustling and bustling from game to game.
I hear the singing of Wal Mart workers greeting you as you come and go.
I hear many things that make Van Wert’s song a great one.
