Vastness Of Space
When we look at the stars in
The night sky we think of how
Far they are away from us, and
Our minds wander, as well as
Wonder, there are so many.
If we travelled at the speed of light,
That is 1080 million kilometres
Per hour, in one year we would
Have travelled 9 trillion kilometres
(That's 9 followed by12 zeros) .
The furthest known galaxy as at
2020 is the delightfully named
GN-z11, at a distance of 13.4
Billion light years away, or,134
Nonillion kilometres away (That's
134 followed by 30 zeros US, or
54 zeros UK) .
The universe is believed to be 13.8
Billion years old, that means the
Light from GN-z11 has taken 13.4
Billion years to reach Earth. That
Truly is something to think about!
