Veritas Poem by Alex Lane

Veritas

The perfect ending
the way I imagined it
the lovers lay down
the last piece slides in to fit
Quiet as light comes
consuming the fallen stars
no need to struggle
we are all restful downcast
No more harm
no alarm
acceptance
of who we are

sitting on the edge
I ignite into blue flame
open to options
on how to end this endgame
less of this and that
more of human mind solace
even the monsters
take this time of calm to rest
No more harm
no alarm
acceptance
of who we are

Sleep and die in your dream
a silent movie scream
don't worry
about saving me
this way I am happy
don't worry
about saving me
this way I'll be happy

Not tragic at all
when you consider your life
I am just content
that I did what I saw as right
We all get the chance
I am sure I used well
the time given me
subject of stories to tell
No more harm
no alarm
acceptance
of who we are

That grin on my face
is the mark of finding peace
in the end of life
I found forever at least
Everlasting one
where all my dreams resurrect
are almost substance
as all of my thoughts collect
No more harm
no alarm
acceptance of who we are

Sleep and die in your dream
A silent movie scream
don't worry about saving me
this way I am happy
don't worry about saving me
this way I'll be happy

You cannot deny because you cannot reply
you cannot disarm but you cannot cause harm
you will not accept all of your soul cannot be kept
surrender some
and walk with me
you may learn something
you did not see
that you need saving
don't worry about fighting me
this way you'll be happy.
