Vilified Or Vindicated? Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Vilified Or Vindicated?

Rating: 5.0

Originality breeds contempt
Some feel exempt
Misunderstood and vilified
Stop the attempt to try, they cried
Yet vindicated by some
Others feeling glum
Being original in approach
Beyond reproach
Thoughts also seen, many times before
Different angles that ask for more
Placed into verse
Many terse
Elongated others beyond reach
On and on they preach
Say it from the heart
That is really a good start
Dragging it out
Oh, give over I shout
Complicated
Overrated
Just trying to play a part
As a poet without art
