Virtual Reminiscence Poem by Aiden Florence

Virtual Reminiscence

Rating: 5.0

I’ve attained to disembark at the end
This pathetic voyage of a so-called life I’ve met once before
Slowly memorizing dramatizations of scarce love
As these walls initiate flashbacks to a virtual world

Its all around you just open your eyes and look
All the opportunities you just had to let go
Turn the pages left to right to ascertain reality
The doors are closed, there’s nothing you can do
You’ll never be able to write new chapters again
I swear this is real

It’s so repulsive to think about who you’ve become
Not so long ago we were on the same floor
Such a disgrace I’ve seen the break to leave you in deep sorrow
The fleeting love finally sinking in freezing water

Your harassment causes a bitter infection
A disease that has no consequence without you aside
I swear I know what’s good
And believe this, without you that’s enough
I swear I can make it out alive
Even if you’re miserable
I won’t come back for you
Ever, I swear I won’t
I swear….

Harsh and cruel. But all the more truthful and lovely. A blunt truth is better than a fancy lie. Angered words may hurt but they help as well. Another wonderful peice. Though it does strike a chord with me and make's me think of events I wish not to bare again, that is good. To create a poem that interacts with another can be one of the best things you could do. well done.
