Vita Nuova

Zwepende takken
verbreken het zwijgen
vallende natte blaad'ren
zijgen en
brekende twijgen
zacht op de aarde toe
ze zijn het hangen moe.

Zouden zo ook lippen
de dans verliezen
kunnen
bewegen
als stilleven
barstend
van hun spanning
taal der liefde
uit de verbanning.

Ach de verkoolde
takken
parasollen
rollend
de traan
uit schaduw
rijk bestaan
de dauw, de kou
de leegte
het gemis aan..

De deur gaat
krakend open
het stof
vlucht uit
haar kluizen
duizend nieuwe sterren
en in de huizen
de zielen
licht en warmte
en geroezemoes.

Langzaam barst
de schil nog pril
dan gaat
dat rood
dat groen
die witte zwanen
meer van dien
roodborstjes
rietgorsjes
alles zingt
en besnaart
de Wil
tot leven!

Poem of the Day

poet Sir Walter Raleigh

EVEN such is Time, that takes in trust
Our youth, our joys, our all we have,
And pays us but with earth and dust;
Who in the dark and silent grave,
