Voice Poem by Diana van den Berg

Voice

She didn’t know then
that it held them captive,
breathless,
mesmerized,
as-namaste-one,
while they ignored the content
of her carefully composed
Classical Civilisation essay,
to imbibe the harmony
and pleasure
of the sound.
