Who wants to go out, in the pouring rain
Who wants to laugh, when they are in pain

Why intensify your effort, if there is, no gain
Why continue loving, if you know, it's in vain

What destroyed your life, then flushed it down the drain
What so scared your heart, it still, torments your brain

Where did love go wrong, became a ball and chain
Where does it lead and what is left, to ascertain

When will all this end and will it then be sane
When did it arrive and how long, will it remain
