Wahysted Poem by Liyo Denorte

Wahysted

soak
my skin
in bathing
sunlit eyes
squinting
salt,
liquid and
metals are bubbling
inside my head
they're screaming
a flashlight
of sun set
searching
your solace
into the
sand, placing
paper cups
on top
of the nipa hut
whaling
mouth open
catching lies
catching whims
catching seeds
of possibilities
swallow
emptiness
what was left
was you
gazing
through the mosquito net,
drifting
