Waiting At The Alter Poem by Andrew Vassell

Waiting At The Alter

How long must I wait
to use my lips to kiss
your faith, to see you
smile as my eyes meet
your down the isle?

How long before they
open them doors so
I can see truly, that
beauty, as my jaws
touch the floor, don't
make me wait a minute
more.

To hear you say the
words, ' I do' as forever
I've been loving you or
or to see your father's
cry as his daughter
becomes my bride.

How long I've I waited
for this day, how I waited
to give you me in every
way. Now thank God
for today, cause from
today I'm going to love
you in a special way.
