Waiting For The Rose Poem by marietta cantos

Waiting For The Rose

the room is filled with
stale scents of roses
since you went away.

my heart learns
to appreciate
the drooping leaves
the ageing petals
fervently wishing
you'll come back
soon.

to adorn this place
with sweet, sweet
countenance of a rose
as if in dream.

oh, i shall sleep
tonight
with perfumed vapor
wafting in the doorway...
