Walking Away Poem by Ann Dewyze

Walking Away

Rating: 3.5

I thought that I could shut the door on you,
Walk away without looking back,
But my feet became heavier
With every step I took
Until I came to a stop
I twisted and turned to keep on moving forward
But I could only move back
And as I did my feet became lighter
Every step I took back to you
Until I was safe in your arms again
