Wandering For Eternity Poem by Sarah Child

Wandering For Eternity

Rating: 5.0

Alone I walk through the darkness that is my mind
My desires trapping me…forcing me into solitude
I did not wish for this life
To be alone…to be forgotten
But my mind is broken
Broken into a thousand tiny pieces
Hatred courses through my veins
Like an unquenchable fire
For all those who try to save me.

Alone I lay in a snow-covered field
Cold unfeeling flakes stick to my equally cold and unfeeling heart
Warm hands reach out for me
Only to be slapped away
Beautiful voices call my name
Only to fall on deaf ears
If only…if only they had tried sooner to revive me
I might have followed them.

It is too late…I do not wish to be saved
For eternity I am doomed
To wander through the void that is my mind.
