Washed Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Washed

Washed

Can see best when in dark
-and covered by shade of…
-while show is in the light
-a sort of "Drive-in" Cinema.

Saw them there
-were happy, pleasant
-near ditch, small pond.

Opened wings for bathing
-puffed feathers, flirty
-the colours amazing
- (the darkened sparrows.)

Were washing off smoke
-of the cold-sad winter
-food-less life under sheds
-of high roofs and ceilings
-with fumes, which stink…

Robins too, were one, two
-with copper shining chests
-and the eyes that could kill
-Romeo; mesmerise
-both Majnoon and Farhad.

To me, scene was great
-as joy of that kiss which
-has remained on skin
-of my lips that I lick
-for remains of honey.

I stood observing
-admired the moving
-miracles of being.
