*water Baby. Poem by Melissa Coventry

*water Baby.

Rating: 2.8

Take me to the place my body seeks,
In a swirl of water: torrents, rains and streams,
Place me among the wet sands absorbing my tears,
And once again I shall be allowed to breathe.

Place me back into my ocean,
Let me reach my mind’s eye stream, as,
These beads of sweat are running,
As my thirst begins to peak.

Take me back to the place, its calling,
To feel the water escaping from my palms,
And cleanse and moisten my free spirit,
From the drying world I’m among.

Brilliant...wow...you have really captured the feeling of the place where the land meets the crashing waves....

I love this Melli... I'm rather attached to the water too, even though I also have a wonderfully inate fear of it! The land looks so parched, I was out on the bike with Dad the other day and I couldnt believe how dry it was. This will be another long summer for this land of ours. Xx Hammy
