Wax Wings Poem by RIC BASTASA

Wax Wings

a woman's hunger for
love, you know, but you
pretend not knowing it
like a gaze that you
disregard as you look
to another direction,
this kind of ignoring is
too unkind but what can
you really do with your
mouth full and preoccupied
hands?
it is a long story
of chasing happiness which
is like a fallen star
that you guess was finally
swallowed by that big
fish in the ocean
where the name of jonathan
was scribbled by some
kind of a tornado or
perhaps another hard
headed man riding on
a wing of wax
that sunny day.
